Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears are presently in cloud 9. The couple is celebrating their second bundle of joy – a girl – an angel again.

The good news came in less than 24 hours after the world’s no. 16 tennis player finished a match against Roger Federer in one charity tennis event held at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow.

Andy played for the first time in public (around 11,000 fans present at the event held on Tuesday) since he had suffered a hip injury and was in a recovery period.

The announcement of the couple expecting their second child came this year in July, right before Wimbledon. Now, it’s been reported that they have welcomed their younger daughter – “a couple of week ago” in England.

Presently, both mother and her child are in good health.

The Murray household seems to be super-excited about their new member. The tennis player’s grandmother, Shirley Erskine expressed how delighted they all are, to the BBC.

Erskine said, “It’s a lovely news and we are looking forward to a cuddle.”

The great-grandmom is on her way to meet her second great-granddaughter. “The main thing is that all’s well. I’m sure Sophia is equally thrilled to have her little playmate.”

Andy and Kim have welcomed their 1st daughter, Sophia in February 2016.

However, when asked about the newborn’s name, Mrs. Erskine preferred to stay tight-lipped, hoping that the parents have already worked out on that.

On questioning, if the siblings would be Wimbledon partners in future, the grandmother laughed saying, “Unfortunately, not in our lifetime, but we would definitely love to think so.”

The Murray couple was also congratulated for the good news by Scotland’s first minister.

Kim and Andy had a fairytale wedding back in 2015. There were over 300 well-wishers who gathered along the Cathedral’s street, only to see this happy couple getting wedded.

According to the Murray pair, “It’s the best weekend of our lives.”
